PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK - OBRAFUO

Obrafour was born in real life as Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko in 1976 to Kwaku Okyere Darko and Gladys Agyapomaa in Kwahu-Obo. At the age of 8, Obrafour sang with his late mum at church. Obrafour had his secondary school education at Abetifi. After one term at St. Peters where he was being trained for his A Level, he dropped out in 1995 when his mother died.
Obrafour believes that he was born with music. His mum was a chorister. At the age of 4, he watched her mum sing at church with keen interest. It got to a time that she would invite him to church to sing with her. When he was in secondary school, he formed a quartet and they were doing Gospel songs. Through some encouragement by some friends, he decided to take up music more seriously. At that time, Reggie Rockstone, the Godfather of hiplife, had released his successful Maka A Maka album and Obrafour was inspired. He had also realized the emergence of artistes like Ex Doe, Chicago, Akyeame, and Lord Kenya, etc. He decided to be different from these pioneers and create his own style. As he began attending various auditions and performances, he met a few bumps and setbacks until he met Edward Nana Poku Osei aka Hammer. Hammer helped Obrafour secure a deal with Abraham Ohene Djan (OM Studios) and in late 1999, Obrafour's first album; 'Pae mu ka' was produced and distributed. The album was an acclaimed success and a breadth of fresh air on the music scene. One of the songs, 'Kwame Nkrumah' paid a resounding tribute to the Osagyefo and encouraged Ghanaians to unite and work for the best of the country. 'Pae mu ka' covered various aspects of entertainment of society with songs like the title track, Yaanom, Aden, Agoro no Aso, and Kokonsa . He was adjudged the rapper of the year, new artiste of the year and best hiplife song for 'Pae Mu Ka' at the 2000 Ghana Music Awards. In 2001, Obrafour released his second album, 'Asem Sebe'. Recognising his love for gospel music, he had as part of this album, the first ever rap gospel song (Enye Nyame a) in Ghana. His premier effort caused a lot of deejays headaches, not sure whether to play the song during gospel or hiplife or even highlife shows. In keeping to his decency and love for socially conscious songs, 'Obibini' implored Africans to stand up for their motherland and work to develop it. 'Okwantuni' asked sojourners in foreign countries to stay in touch with their roots and come home if they were struggling since their home would always be home. 'Who born you by mistake', 'Asem sebe' and 'Twe wo ho' enjoyed massive airplay, and the album had other songs like 'Odo', 'Bra be hwe' and 'Okukuseku'. Obrafour sought the assistance of other beat makers than Hammer and had a few songs with the highlife vein. Even though his sophomore effort could not outclass 'Pae mu ka', it sold many more copies. He did not forget the hand that fed him and made him what he was then. In another first, he came out with a maxi single album that remembered the love and influence of his mother while praising and underlying the importance of mothers all over. Featuring Tic Tac and Yoggi Doggi on a remix, he released his 'Maame' single in 2002. To this day, ‘Maame’ is a Ghanaian music favourite that rules the airwaves each Mother’s day. The album also had a song he did jointly with Tic Tac for Ashfoam which was very successful. Obrafour does not consider Maame a full album, and his third LP was released in early 2003 under the name 'Time Out for Adhesion (TOFA)'. In this album, his love for singing is heavily noticed. He had a song duet with longtime backup singer and lover Adjoa Nyarkoa Amponsah, called 'Dee dee ko', Songs like Nyamekye and Sete are favourites of many highlife music lovers. He did not disappoint his hiplife fan base, as Oye Ohene, Adefoode, Ebehyehyew were chart busters. Other songs on the album were Mensesa Da, Akok Onini, Hini Me, and Oyonko. TOFA had very good sales following the success of his other LPs. As if Obrafour could not fall short of pacesetting, he decided to release another album in the same calendar year. His fourth LP, 'NteteE Pa', came out in late 2003 with a number of remixes from the TOFA album. The lead single, however, was Nya Ntete Pa which coincided with his effort to join Ghana's vice president to fight indiscipline in the country. 'Nya Ntete Pa' is the writer's favourite song and the most lyrically involving song to ever come from hiplife's ranks. It was voted the song of the 2003 by Joy FM listeners and Obrafour's legendary was magnified. It also won the best original song (lyrics) at the 2003 Ghana Music Awards. Ntete Pa won the album of the year at the Ghana Music Awards UK for 2004. Other songs on the album were 'Oye Ohene Remix featuring Tinny, 'Who Jah Bless', 'Sete remix', 'Monfa nsa', and 'Obaa bi'. He started his own indiscipline campaign which targeted the youth mostly even though he had advice for everyone (from ministers and musicians to taxi drivers and pastors). His Platinum Project on indiscipline was divided into two main segments; the Lecture/Counseling Workshop and the H.E.L.P (Hiplife Education and Literacy Project) Ghana initiative. The Lecture/Counseling Workshop had three principal objectives which were drugs combat, promoting disciplined habits in schools and raising a hundred million cedis for charity (H.E.L.P.). The project involved television series, concerts to raise funds for H.E.L.P. which offered free tutorials and scholarships to children and was to support needy but brilliant students to help them further their education. His project was supported by the vice president himself, the Greater Accra regional minister and other musicians. In 2004, Obrafour decided to use his record label, Execution Entertainment (which had been responsible for his last three albums) to expose new talents on Ghana’s music scene. He produced 'Execution Diary' with the help of Hammer which was the first major compilation album involving hiplife artistes by another hiplife artiste. The LP had songs which introduced relatively new hiplife foot soldiers like Kwaw Kese, Hot Core, Dogo and further enhanced the careers of Tinny. There was also Okyeame Quame with, 4x4 and Yoggi Doggi. Obrafour's fame transcends the borders of Ghana, as he has performed in Europe as well as the US. His concerts and performances are ones to behold. He has also featured on a number of artistes' tracks, including Tic Tac's Philomina, Daasebre Dwamena's Kokooko remix and Nana Quame’s Alimatu. He has also helped bring into the limelight Tinny, Dogo, Yaw Labito and KGPM. In 2007, his album 'Heavy' won him three awards including Hiplife Song, Music Video of the Year, and Hiplife Artist of the Year.

CASTRO RETURNS WITH A NEW SONG

The Ghanaian hip life artiste Theophilus Tagoe who was reported to have disappeared last year with a young girl Janet Bandu is said to be alive and hiding from public life.

Not long after the Brazil 2014 world cup, Theophilus was reported to have either drowned or mysteriously disappeared with Janet while the two were riding a Jet Ski at a Beach resort near Accra. The hip life singer and friend of the Blackstars skipper Asamoah Gyan became the headline of most news papers and entertainment reporters who sometimes alleged that Castro the hip life artiste and Asamoah Gyan had used Janet Bandu for some sort of ritual.

After security agencies had done all they could to find the bodies of the two who were reported to have drowned in the sea during their Jet Ski party, but to no avail, some Ghanaians still expressed speculations that the singer was alive, and that he (Castro) was afraid to show up because the lady Janet Bandu, a student had been used in a devilish ritual.

The issue was laid to rest by Ghana media, after no information was popping up from the quarters of Ghana Police as to the where about  of the two. It got to a point where the Blackstars skipper Asamoah Gyan and his brother Baffuor Gyan attacked a journalist for making false allegations against them, saying Asamoah Gyan and his brother were aware of Castro`s hideout.

A few weeks ago, rumors reached Red Paper Online that Castro was alive and hiding in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana where he hails from, but the claim has not yet been confirmed by the police. On O.fm`s entertainment show "Bosoe", the presenter Bishop Gyatabuom Gyata , a musician and friend of the singer announced that Castro`s latest single was out, and would be released soon. However, Gyatabuom stated that he was not in the position to publicly confirm the whereabouts of Castro until the security agencies have confirmed it.

While Ghanaians are waiting to know exactly what happened to Castro and Janet Bandu, the question still remains as to why he has been hiding for so long if indeed he is alive.

KWAW KESSE SPEAKS ON PRISON LIFE

Not long ago, the Madtime hip pop star Emmanuel Botchway known publicly as Kwaw Kesse was arrested in the Ashanti region of Ghana for allegedly possessing illicit drugs. The substance which was later confirmed to be Indian hemp led to the indefinite detention of Kwaw at the Kumasi central prison.

Recounting his experience at the jail house, Kwaw on Peace FM entertainment review show admitted that, life in jail was a hell of a time. In the interview the hip pop rapper said " It was hard for me to believe that I was going to be detained for more than one day. I thought it was going to be an easy escape at the beginning". He explained that, he was shocked to see the sub-human conditions that inmates were going through, and that he couldn`t imagine himself staying there for almost one month.

According to Kwaw Kesse, his cell leader was a generous person as well as his fellow inmates who recognized him as soon as he was thrown in the dungeons. "My cell leader announced to all inmates that it was me who has come, so nobody should make any stupid attempts on me. And I found it very relieving. We sometimes watch Tv and listen to radio in cells, and I could hear several ignorant media folks saying all sorts of things about me which had no merit".

Kwaw Kesse told the host of Peace FM entertainment review show that, " At a point in time, I felt at home. I realized that these inmates are also humans, we talked about our experiences and we shared a lot of funny stories. But I missed my job and all the heat I may have enjoyed during the Christmas season. I regretted ever being in such a situation, yet I am thankful for what I learned from that".

He also thanked his fellow musicians and stars like Sarkodie, Ayigbe Edem, Hammer, Afia Schwarzeneger and other celebrities who showed love by paying him a visit at the prison. " I was really happy to see my friends from the industry, and I knew I was going to be granted bail soon".

In his final remarks, Kwaw Kesse thanked all his fellow inmates especially the Muslims who always prayed to Allah for his timely bail.

GHANA`S OPERA WINFREY SUPPORTS ORPHAN EDUCATION

The issue of orphanage support has been a burning desire in the heart of Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzeneger, a radio presenter and host of the ``KOKOOKO`` show on UTV.

Afia Schwarzeneger the official ambassador for orphans in Ghana has visited and supported many orphanages in various parts of the country donating cash and food items for the upkeep of the children. FIRE BURN AKWASI ABOAGYE - AFIA SCHWARZENEGER

The trumpet of doom was blown this morning on the golden facebook wall of the Queen Afia Schwarzeneger. This time, the culprit was no other than Akwasi Aboagye, the host of Peace Fm`s entertainment review show who must have dared sleeping dogs to wake and bite.
Akwasi Aboagye is the publisher of Razzmatazz news paper, an entertainment news paper and gossip centre for Ghana celebrity rumors. While many shameless Ghanaians were still building an ``anti-schwar`` empire against queen Afia Schwarzeneger for her bravery and wisdom in the erstwhile feud  with the juju prophet Obinim, Razzmatzz newspaper did not take caution from the lashes that cause Obinim to disappear from the scenes, but dared to encounter the heat.

Afia Schwarzeneger, the goddess of Ghana entertainment this morning seemed furious about her photo on the cover page of Razzmatazz Newspaper with the caption ``CELEBRITIES BEING EXPOSED BY BLOGS/WEBSITES``. From a far perspective one would ask why Queen Afia would attack Akwasi Aboagye knowing they both belong to the Despite multimedia group, and are both radio broadcasters. Yet, the fact cannot be overlooked that Afia Schwarzeneger is not the type of comedian that the media can mess with.

Though the real story in the Razzmatzz newspaper has not yet reached the desk of Red Paper Online, the post on Afia`s facebook page indicated that Akwasi Aboagye had stepped on the wrong toes. According to a subsequent photo posted this morning by the goddess, in which she was beautifully smiling her golden smile in what appears to be an Airforce uniform, the caption reads....

.``They said I wasn't flying .. pls this is not Ashawo uniform wai..This is a uniform of alligence air pty crew that was flying for air congo.I pity u Akwasi Aboagye n ur hungry blogger friend, who is also homeless in Uk Chris Shit or whatever ,I just hope those lies n attempts build u an empire cos am building mine from ur hating.``

In another status update, the god-queen made it clear that Akwasi Aboagye and his blogger friend were mere hungry folks who wanted to make money from her name. The post reads...

.`I forbid this useless news paper to write anything abt me....you are slaves of some cheap blogger n please stay away from me. Akwasi Aboagye stop making money of my name it won't feed u and ur hungry blogger friend. If u want to discuss anything pls discuss urself n ur "small member".....hehehe
I guess I have sounded clear``

I guess this would be clear enough to Akwasi Aboagye and friends who I believe are not ready for what might come next from Schwar Movement 4 lyf.

MZBELS BOYFRIEND IS HER PROBLEM - MARIAH LIGHT

Ghana entertainment has taken a new turn this week after Mzbel told the truth about her religious beliefs on the Restoration Tv show. The hiplife music queen has received enormous criticism from the Christian community as their reaction to a statement she made which implied that Jesus Christ never existed.

While Red Paper Online was investigating the validity of Mzbel`s personal opinion about the existence of Jesus Christ, Mariah Light the upcoming hiplife rapper and singer suggested that, Mzbel wouldn`t have said such a thing. Mariah Light, the hottest and sexy upcoming star and the famed rapper of ``wose me boy bi`` a hiplife single which was released last year, suggested that Mzbel may have been confused and convinced by her alleged banker boyfriend who also does not believe anything about Jesus Christ.

Mariah Light has been in the music industry for sometime now, and worked hard over the years to hit the spotlight. Not long ago she collaborated with the famed rapper Scientific on her latest single, and went ahead to shoot a must-watch music video. As a good Christian and a prayerful secular singer, Mariah encouraged Ghanaians that Jesus is God, and that all must believe in him in order to save their souls. She also insisted that Ghanaians should forget about Mzbel`s statement and keep believing in Jesus as God.  ``If Mzbel is looking for media hype, not this way`, Mariah Light told RPO.

AFIA SCHWARZENEGER ENLIGHTENS GHANA CHRISTIANS

The almighty goddess of Ghana entertainment has shown so much love and concern for God and her friend MzBel who recently confessed that the story of Jesus Christ is nothing but fiction.

Belinda Ekua Amoah, the queen of hip life on the Restoration TV show with Stacy explained that, she only believed in God almighty, and that her belief in Jesus came to a sad end when she realized that 5000 years ago, Horus was revered as the son of God and was the first to be crucified and resurrected.

Ghanaian Christians have impatiently attacked MzBel on social media and other platforms calling her names and pretending to be fighting as soldiers of Jesus. Many of them took it upon themselves to judge and anathematize the hip life queen on behalf of the archangels, and also further disgrace themselves in the name of Jesus.

As is always the case, goddess Afia Schwarzeneger stepped up yesterday to show her most commendable intelligence and wisdom on her facebook page, educating ignorant Christians to be very tolerant of religious differences saying ``not all Ghanaians were born Christians``.

In her own words, Sister Afia was clear and precise in stating her point of view without any compromise here nor there. Goddess Afia yeterday posted on her facebook wall that ...

``Why are some Ghanaian's like this...so you wanted her to lie??
I believe in Jesus;the power in the blood of Jesus n I also believe that he is the son of God...that also doesn't mean I hate Muslims neither do I despise Jewish, pagans nor Hindus who's got no business with the man Jesus...i was privileged to practice a lil Islam in the north and I can confidently tell u that nothing in the holy quoran depict Jesus as the son of God in fact his name is Anabi issah in the holy quoran...i stand to be corrected
Not every ghanaian was born a Christian and if I go thru what Mzbel dashed thru in the hands of a pastor...I will change religion with speed.
And the bible says whosoever that believeth not whosoever joins the crowd.
Christians must learn to be tolerant...Mzbel is a Jewish n She worships God directly not thru Jesus Christ...
Enough of the insults wai cos you dnt even know if Jesus is the real deal till we all get to heaven, just becos we grew up knowing only Jesus doesn't necessarily means other religions are wrong and stop fighting unnecessary battle for the lord for his name is mighty warrior,if he is mad he will react on his own.
Accepting other religion is termed maturity
Schwarbel 4 lyfe.``

It`s most certainly becoming apparent that religious segregation is at the root of Ghana`s retrogression, and as Father Rawlings has always maintained, ``until we learn the value of truth in our society, we will never have justice``.

Asante Clickwise, the upcoming controversial rapper released a youtube video in which he forewarned Ghanaians to expect a great change in musical philosophy and in the areas of arts and entertainment. He applauded Afia for solely dealing with the prophet Obinim whose clones are heavily indebted to the nation for many years of lies and hypocrisy through the name of Jesus.

MzBEL REVEALS TRUTH ABOUT THE JESUS STORY

The hiplife singer and queen of secular music in Ghana Belinda Ekua Amoah, popularly known as MzBel has revealed that Jesus Christ never existed as Christians have been misled to believe.

In an interview with Stacy the host of Restoration TVshow, the Christian born secular singer in her response to the question ``Do you believe in Jesus Christ`` explained that , she once believed in Jesus until she did her own research which convinced her that the story of Jesus which is said to have happened 2000 years ago had already happened 5000 years ago in Africa- Egypt. MzBel, born into a Christian home, was brought up with faith in Jesus Christ, and her Christian life was an example to many people. She recalled a situation where she prayed in tongues until her room was filled with smoke, which her pastor confirmed as the presence of God in her room.

Indeed, one cannot disrespect her viewpoint and brush it off as mere fantasy. Why would anyone make such a blasphemous assertion in the face of a society where Christianity dominates every sphere of thought? Coming among the likes of Wanlov the Kuborlor and Asante Clickwise who share similar beliefs, the issue must be given a close attention by the Ghanaian religious community.

According to MzBel, she could not help but raise questions about the strong similarities in the life of the Egyptians deity Horus and that of the Christian Jesus. She revealed that, Horus was born by a virgin mother Isis 5000 years ago, disappeared at age 12, had disciples at age 30, and died at age 33. Horus was resurrected by God his father on the third day and ascended into heaven many years before the nativity of Jesus.

The hiplife Queen encouraged all Ghanaians to research the subject in their own accord, and not judge her as some devils advocate. She advised that, true knowledge comes through seeking and educating ones self. She also affirmed her belief in the Almighty God, and the old testament, stating that the messiah mentioned by Isaiah in the old testament had nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

"GIRLS AND GUINESS" IS PHENOMINAL - ASANTE CLICKWISE

In the light of philosophy, Ghana is getting introduced to a new kind of music as Asante Clickwise, the Obuasi born rapper and blogger is gradually powering up his musical abilities this year.

Discovering his musical talent in 1996, and performing on stages at the age of 12, Asante Clickwise is also known for his acting and writing skills which have been part of him for many years. The multi-genre rapper and composer has been marked for his conscious lyrical contents and the controversial and explicit nature of his musical composition. Not long ago, Clickwise released a controversial single "Letter to Yesu" which has become a hard shell for entertainment panelists to crack. The single seeks to educate listeners on the advent of European and Turkish religious sects in Ghana, and also tackles the confusion surrounding salvation. "Letter to Yesu" has generated a massive attention on the upcoming rap star and his weird talent.

In an interview with Red Paper Online on the realease of his latest single "Girls and Guiness", Clickwise revealed that... " I had no idea I was going to make such a mad tune, I call it phenominal, a call to Ancestral duty"... The single was released yesterday on www.kansila.com and uploaded to Asante Clickwise page on Reverb Nation. "Girls and Guiness" is a brief introduction to a stockpile of what he calls "Mental Delivery" music, a project meant to liberate the mind of African people. Asante promised that, despite the release of the song at this time, it will be incorporated on his album in the making which is titled "Tormentation".

NKRUMAH WARNED AGAINST NEW WORLD ORDER

One cannot talk about the independence of Ghana without paying homage to Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the great Ancestor who came to dwell among suffering people in order to rescue them from all pain and agony.

As Ghana is about to celebrate independence, the question arises as to what independence really means to todays Ghanaian. What was the situation before that compelled Dr. Nkrumah to insist on "self governance now"? Could it be that Nkrumah encountered a situation in America and the United Kingdom that caused him to suspect the existence of a global system of imperialism ?
It is relevant for the people of Ghana in this generation to have a recap of the life, the ambitions, and the achievements of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the man who led Ghana to freedom. Dr. Nkrumah warned that.....

" the political economic situation  in the world is one in which a tiny minority of the people grow "richer and richer, while the rest grow poorer and poorer."  Challenge of the Congo, p. x

He further elaborated that the situation required world socialism as it was the only remedy, for "as long as capitalism and imperialism go unchecked there will always be exploitation, and an ever-widening gap between the haves and the have-nots, and all the evils of imperialism and neo-colonialism which breed and sustain wars." Challenge of the Congo, preface, p. x.

Why did Nkrumah keep warning us about capitalism? He also warned against dependence on capitalist global institutions such as the United Nation Organization (UN) and the Bretton Woods institutions such as the IMF and World Bank.  Of the UN he reminded us that the UN is the tool of the elite states which control the Security Council and that it was / is "just as reliable an instrument for world order and peace as the Great Powers are prepared to allow it to be."  I Speak of Freedom, preface, p xii.

The United Nations Organization?  Why must Nkrumah warn us about the UN, IMF, and World Bank? Who removed Nkrumah from office? And why is Ghana now a foster child to these institutions that Dr. Nkrumah warned us about?

One needs a moment to reflect on the chronology of events from 1957 to 2015, in an attempt to discover the hidden patterns that completes the story of how Ghana is still in slavery. Nkrumah also said....

"By far the greatest wrong which the departing colonialists inflicted on us, and which we now continue to inflict on ourselves in our present state of disunity, was to leave us divided into economically unviable States which bear no possibility of real development...."

"...We must unite for economic viability, first of all, and then to recover our mineral wealth in Southern Africa, so that our vast resources and capacity for development will bring prosperity for us and additional benefits for the rest of the world. That is why I have written elsewhere that the emancipation of Africa could be the emancipation of Man." Speech OAU Summit Conference Cairo 7/19/64 can be found on pages 282-4 of Revolutionary Path

SARKODIE DECLARES WAR ON PEPSI COLA

The Ghana rapperholic and King of Twi Pop has recently declared a war on Pepsi Cola with his new song "I`M IN LOVE WITH KOOKO". According to popular radio commentators and entertainment think tanks, Sarkodie, the all time best rapper in Ghana will not risk his reputation in such circumstance.

With the serene energy from Tema, the Harbour City, Sarkodie Obidiponbidi took a walk through his akashic records and came up with heavy punch lines as he always does, and this time Obidi advised his dear fans to hate Pepsi Cola and love Kooko.

It has been assumed by some Afrikanists that, the Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has the health of his people at heart, and therefore chose to advocate Kooko, an Afrikan porridge made from Corn, Millet, and other grains and cereals.

Mid way in the "Im in love with  Kooko", Sarkodie raps "M3mpe Pepsi Cola", meaning "I hate Pepsi Cola". The song had strong lyrics on a sick beat, and turn out to be one of the best ideas from the great Sarkology camp.

SARKODIE`S ILLUMINATI EXPOSED

The award winning Tema rapper Micheal Owusu Addo known in the rap game as Sarkodie was alleged to belong to the notorious secret organization 'Illuminti" after he released his single titled "Illuminati".

The Illuminati are believed to be secret powers who  control the world music industry, world trade and commerce, and the mainstream media. After the release of the song, some Sarkodie fans argued that the Twi Pop king was secretly in some connection with the Illuminati group, and was doing their bidding by titling his song "Illuminati".

According to myjoyonline.com, Sammy Forson, the manager of the rapper-holic said the Illuminati music video was the most expensive video Sarkodie has ever shot. He mentioned that the total expenditure of the video is little above $ 90,000 including the cost of location in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the transportation of a Ferrari to the middle of a desert.

Sarkodie in the song explicitly professed his belief in Jesus Christ, and asked why people call him illuminati even though he loves Jesus. Many social commentators on radio and TV have sought to clarify the issue, while the remaining few are still suspicious due to Sarkodie`s rumored connection with Kanye West who once said "I sold my soul to the devil".

KWAW KESSE WILL "MURDER" GHANA POLICE

Some fans of the maddest man in the Ghana music industry have been expecting a tight lyrical vengeance on Ghana police after his release from Kumasi central prisons.

Kwaw Kesse was arrested at Kumasi for allegedly smoking a substance which was confirmed to be Indian hemp at the Plus Two pub at Ahodwo. The arrest led to a mild protest from some musicians and fans who believed that justice was not being well served in the country. In the light of eventful analysis, some Ghanaians were wroth at the fact that the law against illicit drugs was impracticable in a prior circumstance where Chris Brown smoked similar weed on stage at the Accra sports stadium in front of about 5000 people, and telecasted live on T.V stations across the country.

During his days in custody, the hip pop star relayed a message to his fans begging them to halt all forms of violence against the authorities, and also advised his fans to refrain from making any hash statements about the police in order to ensure his safe return from jail. Much has been expected from Kwaw after he won this battle against the monstrous underdogs who were believed to be behind the arrest and defamation of his reputation. And like Yaa Pono who released a single "Free Kwaw" , in which he addressed the issue of partial justice, it is expected that Kwaw Kesse will soon drop a dope tune that will contain his experience at the Kumasi prison and also a reply to his law enforcement friends.

Recounting his days in the forefront of Ghana music, Tic Tac further touched on the issue of fronting by some people who he believes are not truthful about their wealth status. In the song "All Over the World", the ace rapper verbally set the record straight that people all over the world are "gnashing" due to economic hardship that has hit our mother planet. In this interview with Gyatabuom which lasted for about ten minutes, Tic Tac alluded to the fact that a global economic catastrophe is blowing over the Earth, and that all those who pose themselves as being wealthy and swaggish are nothing but mere pretenders who only seek to deceive themselves and others. He went ahead with prayers to the Almighty to come to the aid of "boys boys" who have now become economically impotent to be truthful about their hustle and to receive the favour of God. All over the world was first played on Obuasi radio by Bishop Gyatabuom Gyata on the popular Bosoe entertainment show.

ZAKIA GOES INTERNATIONAL WITH "TOO LATE"

Some years back, it would have been very unbelievable if anybody had mentioned that Zakia Kunge was not going to shine brighter than the stars of heaven after she won the "Miss Agrrey 2004" at Aggrey Memorial Secondary school in Cape Coast. Zakia, as she is known to her fans has for ages portrayed her love for entertainment on many platforms, and many observers had pointed out her shinning future even before this day.

From her days at Green Hill, Brafo Yaw where she attended Aggrey Memorial secondary school, Zakia had always had the burning desire to unleash her talents to the world at large at the least opportunity avialable. She join the writers, debators and drama club of the school where she did exceptionally well to as a major actress in the group, succeeding great actresses like Aisha Keita, Rashidat Kidiri, and Rhoda Acquah. Zakia, took over the mantle as a leading actress and later became the most prolific actress in 2003 and 2004 in the school. It was easy for anyone to admit that Zakia Kunge was an exact clone of Celine Dion, when she did her karaoke debut, performing songs of Celine Dion in a very unique fashion. She became popular in the Central and Greater Accra region as the Ghana Celine Dion and best vocalist  after representing the school at the Fanta Fiesta held in Accra somewhere in 2005. Obviously, one could imagine what kind of future was ahead of her in the Ghana music industry if she keeps her fire burning.

Very little was heard of a Zakia in recent years as she had left the country to further her education at the Peoples Friendship University in Moscow, Russia. And like a Tiger whose stripes never gets washed away by the rains, Zakia never became an infidel to her long born passion, but rather focused on building her future around it. She mounted stages with her karaoke  and got in the spotlight in Russia. Upon her return to Ghana, She participated in modeling contests where she caught the eye of several modeling agencies as one of the best models that the country can boast of. Appearing on many platforms and giving of the best of her performances which were undoubtedly a feast to all eyes. With such a background, it was expected that Miss Kunge will soon glow in Ghana media as a viable tool for transformation.

Though Zakia has many singles to her credit, it is well to say that her new single "Too Late" is what will officially break the shell and see her fly amongst the likes of Efya Awindor and Becca. With passion and affection etched  on her vocal box, listeners can feel the message in her heart and reflect on the purpose of music in the life of man. Zakia introduces a rare style of neo-soul music with a Russian touch and an Afrikan conscousness which sets her apart from her peers and competitors. While her adorable slender body naturally nominates her for a Miss Heaven beauty award, it is hopeful that she will soon gain recognition in entertainment as far as the continent is concerned. Too Late is now popular in parts of Russia, and gradually taking seat in the ears of Ghanaian soul music lovers.
